If you're using Builds.io and something isn’t quite working right — apps not installing, profile errors, or missing buttons — it might be because Safari isn't set as your default browser.

Why Safari Matters for Builds.io

Builds.io is a browser-based app library, and our entire infrastructure is optimized for Safari on iOS. That means everything from installing profiles to launching apps works best (and sometimes only) when Safari is set as the default browser.

Using Chrome, Firefox, or another browser by default? That’s totally fine for general use — but it may block or break key steps in the Builds.io install process.

To get the smoothest experience, we strongly recommend using Safari as your default browser while using our service.

How to Set Safari as Your Default Browser

It’s quick and easy to do:

  1. Open your iPhone or iPad Settings

  2. Scroll down and find the browser app you’re currently using (e.g., Chrome, Firefox)

  3. Tap it, then tap “Default Browser App”

  4. Select Safari

That’s it! You can switch back to your favorite browser later, but we suggest keeping Safari as default during setup and app installations.
